This time...

I'm not going to delete the old posts to start over. I just went through each post and I'm cracking up!

So here I go again.

Facebook has undoubtedly taken over my online life. I've connected with a lot of people over the past year and some months. I love and hate it at the same time. Love it because its easy to find people and catch up; Hate it because its a HUGE time waster. The "e-World" is going to be an interesting place once my girls are old enough to be using the Internet on a regular basis; Which is getting to be sooner than later.

Since the birth of Webkinz in our home, Computer time and Internet time is in high demand. Thankfully as a parent I can use this as a reward. We've decided that they can earn their computer and gaming time through chores. If they finish their chores throughout the week they get an hour of computer time on the weekends. If they do extra chores they can earn 10-20 more minutes depending on the extra thing they do. They can use their time all at once or they can spread it across the weekend. But they can't carry it over to the next week, unless something else comes up for that particular weekend; Like going out of town, or being away from the house.

Fortunately with Webkinz, I don't have to worry as much about the random stranger chatting with my girls. They lock it down pretty good so that in the chat rooms you can only say things from a select number of phrases and responses. I know that as they start creeping towards their teenage years, they're going to want to be involved in some sort of Social Networking Site.. (I'm going to assume in 3 years Facebook is going to be considered something that old people use - and the kids are going to have somewhere else to go.)

Obviously I can't shield my kids from the Internet entirely. Its going to be a part of their lives whether I like it or not. We continue to push the importance of safety - and that the same rules apply online as they do in real life. Fortunately for us, our school also teaches Internet safety in their computer class.

So, yeah its been a while.

I'm slowly going to try to get back into the swing of things. Its been so long since I've put anything out here, I've lost my touch! ;) Stay tuned, I am sure good things are bound to come. And I'll apologize in advance for the boringness of the blog.. once I get back into the swing of things, I'm hoping it will be as entertaining as ever.. ;)

So, my dog has allergies. He's allergic to ragweed in the fall of all things to be allergic to. I guess it's pretty common, but still I feel so bad for the guy.. He's itchy, scratcy, cranky and downright bitchy. I've been feeding him Steroids for about a week now, and it seems to be getting a little better, but he's still biting a lot of his hair out and scratching like crazy. The poor thing. I've got some allergy tabs on order.. hopefully they will be here tomorrow. Poor puppy..

Forgotten music

So it has probably been ten years since I last put my Cranberries CD in (No Need to Argue). I have so forgotten how good this CD is. I've added it to my play-list.. I can't believe I forgot about it!

I do, however, think that I've strained my voice rocking out to Zombie on the way into work this morning. I was one of the freaks singing along to the radio while driving during rush hour this morning.

I also brought in my Nine Inch Nails CD (Pretty Hate Machine). Its actually not MINE, my cousin let me borrow it about 12 years ago.. I forgot to give it back to him. I haven't put it in yet, but I'm expecting to have that same "Oh yeah, this is a great CD!" reaction as well.

What are some albums that you've forgotten about, or haven't listened to for years, that you were at one time REALLY into?

Blog thoughts

So I've come to the conclusion that if I don't update this blog every day, I'll never keep up with this blog.
So, that being said, I'm thinking of doing themes for the day ...

For example:

Monday: weekend Recap day
Tuesday: Silly Kids
Wednesday: Simple minds
Thursday: ???
Friday: ???

And then I'll give it a rest on the weekends.

However I'm not sure what to write about, any ideas?

Suppose I should update

What me, procrastinate? Never.

I've got finals this week. I'll be so happy when I'm done with these classes. Tomorrow is my Business Statistics course, and then on Thursday I have a final in Music Appreciation. I like the Music Appreciation so much more than Statistics, but I'm looking forward to the Statistic final over the Music final. Less writing in the Stats Class. Regardless, after this week I'm done for a while. I've decided that I'm taking Winter quarter off. I'm away from home too much as it is, and this way I can at least spend my evenings with the husband and the kids. (**maybe even update my blog once in a while..**)

Tonight we have Daisy Scouts and Brownie Scouts. I'm a troop leader again this year for the Daisy Scouts, but really, its going better than last year already. I think going through this last year gave me an idea on what to do or not to do this year. Then again, this is only our second meeting.

What exciting things do you have going on this week?

Monkey George

We have a new babysitter. Its name is Monkey George.

Not only is she actually paying attention to the movie, she starts to act it out.

She proceeds to pop imaginary bubbles, giggle about fireflies, and yell out Oh no GEORGE! Whenever he seems to find himself in an ounce of trouble.

When we bought the movie, we also got a small stuffed George holding onto a bucket of popcorn or Hey! Corn! as Zoe likes to call it. The first thing she did was pull the popcorn out of his arms. However, when she is watching the movie, George must have his Hey! Corn! with him. She'll hold her arm out and say "Pause this!" and run back to her bedroom to get the Hey! Corn! out of her stash spot, then she'll enjoy the movie with George while preteneding to eat the Hey! Corn! out of the bucket.

Two years, seven months, and two days. Where did my baby go?

Crickets

chirping in my house
chirping in the cabinets
I really hate them
